26th Annual Engage and Change Project Winter Survival,
Toronto Police Assisting with Distribution of Essentials to Shelters,

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 12 p.m., at 119 Snow Boulevard, Vaughan, Toronto Police Service's 13 Division in partnership with Auric Worldwide Cargo, Fortigo Freight Service, Scotiabank, RBC Foundation, CIBC, Perimeter Development Corporation, Optimus SBR, and The Bargains Group, will facilitate the distribution of 3,500 winter survival kits to over 145 social service agencies, outreach providers and homeless shelters.
Project Winter Survival is an Engage and Change program committed to helping those who are less fortunate endure the hardships of winter by providing such necessities as sleeping bags, clothing and health care items. Since its inception, in 1999, Project Winter Survival has placed in excess of 50,000 survival kits into the hands of people in Toronto and the surrounding area that are experiencing homelessness.
Media will have the opportunity to take photos and videos of volunteers and police personnel packaging the kits for distribution.
Event Schedule:
- 8:30 am - 10:30 a.m.: kits will be packed and assembled
- 12:00 pm: media conference
- 12:30 pm - 3:30 p.m.: agency distribution
- 2:00 pm: *Media Opportunity* Homeless Outreach to deliver Survival Kits in the downtown core
