Project Finito,
Largest seizure of cocaine and crystal meth in Toronto Police Service's history

Today at Toronto Police Headquarters, Deputy Chief Rob Johnson was joined by Superintendent Steve Watts of Organized Crime Enforcement to announce the results of Project Finito, an investigation into the importation and distribution of large volumes of illicit drugs in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This is the largest seizure of Schedule 1 Controlled drugs in TPS history.

Project Finito has resulted in the seizure of 992 kilograms of drugs - 551 kilos of cocaine and 441 of crystal methamphetamine - with a total estimated street value of $90 million. A single firearm along with one motor vehicle were seized in the investigation, and approximately $95,100 in Canadian currency.

Through funding provided by the Government of Ontario, Criminal Intelligence Service Ontario (CISO) is supporting this Toronto Police Service joint investigation.

Project Finito

In October 2023, members of the Toronto Police Service Organized Crime Enforcement Drug Squad and the Organized Crime Task Force executed a number of search warrants resulting in the arrests of seven individuals.

The search warrants led to the seizure of:

  • 551 kilograms of cocaine
  • 441 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine
  • one firearm
  • one motor vehicle
  • approximately $95,100 in Canadian Currency

Total estimated street value of the drugs seized: $90,000,000.00

Arrests and Charges:

It is alleged that the arrested individuals form part of a sophisticated network involved in the distribution of large volumes of cocaine and crystal methamphetamine in the GTA.

Camron Longmore, 20, of Ajax, has been charged with:

  1. two counts of Trafficking in Schedule I Substance
  2. Possession Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking
  3. Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
  4. three counts of Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance

The accused was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday,  November 16, 2023, at 9 a.m., room 1001. 

Tenzin Palden, 25, of Mississauga, has been charged with:

  1. Possession Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking
  2. Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

The accused was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday,  November 16, 2023, at 9 a.m., room 1001. 

Bryan Sherritt, 37, of Etobicoke, has been charged with:

  1. two counts of Possession Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  2. Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

The accused was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday,  November 16, 2023, at 9 a.m., room 1001. 

Abubakar Mohamed, 30, of Etobicoke, has been charged with:

  1. Possession Schedule I Substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  2. Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
  3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000.00

The accused was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 9 a.m., room 1001. 

Bashir Hasan Abdi, 34, of Toronto, has been charged with:

  1. Trafficking in Schedule I Substance
  2. two counts of Possession Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking
  3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5,000.00

The accused was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wednesday,  November 15, 2023, at 11 a.m., room 1001. 

Zubayul Hoque, 25, of Ajax, has been charged with:

  1. Possession Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking
  2. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000.00
  3. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  4. Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  5. Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 9 a.m., room 1001.

Lucho Loder, 43, of Toronto has been charged with:

  1. Trafficking in Schedule I Substance
  2. two counts of Possession Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking
  3. Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
  4. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000.00
  5. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.00

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 11 a.m., room 1001.
