The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of a homicide investigation.

On Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at approximately 10:18 p.m., police responded to reports of a stabbing in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue West area.

It is alleged that:

  • there was an altercation between a group of people near a bike trail
  • officers located two men who had been stabbed and provided life-saving measures
  • a 25-year-old man was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is currently in stable condition.
  • a 24-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene

The victim has been identified as a 24-year-old-man from Newcastle, Ontario

Haroon Imran, 22, of Toronto, has been charged with:

  1. Manslaughter
  2. Aggravated Assault

He will attend court at 1000 Finch Avenue West on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 2 p.m., virtually.
