Man Arrested in Retail Robbery Investigation,
Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Retail Robbery investigation.

On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at approximately 12:30 p.m., police responded to a robbery call in the Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue area.

It is alleged that:

  • a male suspect entered a jewellery store in the area
  • the suspect produced a knife and made a demand for jewellery
  • the suspect took a quantity of jewellery
  • the suspect then fled the area on foot

Officers from 14 Division responded, located and arrested the suspect.

It is further alleged that:

  • at the time of the arrest, officers recovered some of the stolen jewellery 

Ryan Comeau, 31, of no fixed address, was charged with:

  1. Robbery With Offensive Weapon
  2. Weapons Dangerous
  3. Possession Property Obtained by Crime Under
  4. Fail to Comply Probation Order

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 10 a.m., Room 301.
