Man Charged with Assaulting a Toronto Police Parking Enforcement Officer,
1200 St. Clair Avenue West

The Toronto Police would like to make the public aware of an arrest in an assault investigation.

On Monday, November 21, 2022, at 5:01 p.m., Police responded to a call for an Assault near 1200 St. Clair Avenue West

It is alleged that:

  • a Parking Enforcement Officer was conducting Rush Hour enforcement in the area
  • the Parking Enforcement Officer asked the driver to move along
  • the Parking Enforcement Officer issued the offending vehicle a violation for the posted No Stopping Rush Hour Route after the driver refused to move his vehicle
  • the driver physically assaulted the Officer into a live lane of traffic
  • the driver forcefully struck the Officer’s left hand which was holding the violation notice
  • the driver then got back into his vehicle and drove away

On Monday, November 22, 2022, Huseyin A. Akyol, 32, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Assault

He is scheduled to appear in court at 1000 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 2:30 p.m., room 301.
