Anonymous Officer boosts Typhoon Relief Efforts

Members of 14 Division followed the lead of a generous officer by helping those affected by the typhoon in the Phillipines.

Due to the recent typhoon that struck the Philippines, a 14 Division Officer, who wishes to remain anonymous, approached Supt. Mario Di Tommaso and offered to match any money collected (to a maximum of $1,000) for the Philippines Typhoon Relief Fund.

Collection jars were set up in the station for five weeks, raising $752. The generous anonymous member of 14 Division donated the entire $1,000 for a total donation of $1,752. for the Philippines Typhoon Relief Fund. The Federal Government will match the donation made to the Canadian Red Cross, for a total donation of $3,504.

Constables Gord Reid and Henry Dyck attended the Canadian Red Cross on Friday, December 20, 2013, on behalf of the members of 14 Division, to make a cheque presentation to the Manager of Major Gifts Gordon Moir.

Supt. Di Tommaso thanked the members of 14 Division for their generosity, kindness and humanity.
