Cadets In Spirit of the Season

Toronto Police College

In advance of the 2014 Holiday food drive, police cadet Anthony Deonarain, on behalf of his family, made a challenge to his classmates in Recruit Class 14-03.

For every 1,000 pounds of food or $1,000 in cash collected by class 14-03, his family would match the donation.

The Daily Bread Food Bank is an important resource in the City of Toronto who help families in need. The Daily Bread Food Bank is also a neighbour of the Toronto Police College and an important community partner. The food collected will be provided to the Daily Bread Food Bank as part of their Holiday food drive.

Mr. Maniram Deonairan has just returned from a trip to South Korea where he also spearheaded a food drive in a poor community.

“It is very important and also very rewarding to give what we can to those in need. In Canada, we have great opportunity and lots of available food to provide to people who can’t afford it. I am very proud of Anthony and his classmates in their food collection efforts and I look forward to seeing all of them graduate in January.”

The class of police constables will be graduating on January 8, 2015, when they will be deployed to Divisions across the city.
