Open to grade 12 students who are pursuing post-secondary education, they are required to submit a 500-word essay on ‘What Black History Month means to you’, including what community contributions they have made and what or who inspires them.

The contest runs from February 1-18. The deadline on the last day is 2 p.m.

The top eight essays will receive $500 each to assist with their post-secondary education.

The winners will receive a phone call and their names will be announced on February 25 through social media.
