Cold Case Suspect On Lam

Homicide and Missing Persons Unit
A night out with friends turned deadly for 20-year-old Mahad Tahlil, allegedly stabbed by then-18-year-old Suleiman Abdi Ahmed in the parking lot of a gas station on Dixon Road 14 years ago.

Talil died shortly after that evening on September 2, 2002. And Ahmed has been on the run ever since.

Police have not given up looking for the wanted man, who has a Canada wide search warrant for him. Ahmed is now 32.

“Someone out there knows where this person currently is,” says Detective Sergeant Stacy Gallant. He said the Somali community, as well as residents of Etobicoke, will likely be the most helpful to the investigation.

“We have collected all the evidence involved in the matter. We need his location,” says Gallant.
