Encouraging Conversations on Keeping City Safe
The annual Crime Prevention Week is a collaboration between the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), the government of Ontario and local police services to help prevent crime before it happens and create safe communities. It also raises awareness about the many initiatives police and community partners are working on to further these goals.
Staff Superintendent Randy Carter said the week is about collaboration between the public and police.
“The job of preventing crime is a shared responsibility and it involves collaboration between police our partner agencies and the communities we serve.
The Toronto Police Service will be sharing videos all week on itsTwitter,Facebook andInstagramaccounts with crime prevention tips for the public under the hashtag #CPweek2021.
