Fentanyl, Handguns Seized

Integrated Gun & Gang Task Force

A Toronto Police investigation has resulted in the seizure of three handguns as well as drugs, including fentanyl.

In early 2022, the Integrated Gun & Gang Task Force launched an investigation that led to a warrants being issued for two addresses.

Among the items allegedly seized by police are a Glock 45 9-mm semi-automatic handgun, a Springfield Armory Hellcat 9mm semi-automatic handgun, a Glock 29 10mm semi-automatic handgun, a quantity of various calibers of ammunition, one kilogram of cocaine, 113.93 grams of fentanyl, a holster, two bullet proof vests, six additional over-capacity magazines and two police scanners.

On March 8, Bryan Taylor, 36, of Oshawa, was arrested.

He faces 20 firearm and drug-related charges.

“I can’t be more complimentary of the work our officers are doing, from the Gun and Gang Task Force to the Shooting Response Teams and how many firearms that have been seized,” said Detective Sergeant Michelle Olszevski. “Since the beginning of the year, that number has been substantial and it’s because of the diligent work of both units.”

Taylor is scheduled to make a court appearance on March 17.
