Firearms Off Streets

Integrated Gun & Gang Task Force
Nine firearms and a quantity of drugs were seized by police who executed search warrants January 24.

At a news conference at police headquarters on January 25, Inspector Peter Moreira of the Integrated Gun & Gang Task Force said two carbine rifles with high-capacity magazines, six semi-automatic handguns and a revolver were located at one of the residences.

“This is quite a significant find and it’s indicative of the kind of investigations we have undertaken,” he said. “It was a coordinated effort of a few different units in Organized Crime Enforcement that went very well.”

He said the investigation started a few weeks ago.

“We received some information pertaining to guns and drugs and we acted,” said Moreira.

He pointed out the drugs were found at a different location from the firearms.

Junior Richardson, 39, and Kathryn Concepcion, 36, both of Toronto, are facing firearms charges.
