Helping Family at Christmas

Parking Enforcement rallied around a family this Christmas.

While contemplating what to do for their annual Christmas Challenge, Parking Enforcement ‘E’ platoon member Kimberly Janes suggested they adopt a family for the holiday season.

“The idea was put to the members who wholeheartedly and without reservation said a resounding ‘yes’,” recalled Patrol Supervisor George Codrington. “Holiday Helpers were contacted and a family of four consisting a single mom and three kids were selected. We don't know much about mom except she was fleeing an abusive relationship.”

Janes, Codrington and Parking Enforcement Officer Rasnidda Chanthoumphone obtained the items on the wish list that including clothes, toys and kitchen ware.

“We thought that that adopting a family is an incredible way to reach a lot of people all at once,” said Codrington. “Given the current pandemic, we as Service members have been fortunate and wanted to give something back to the community that we serve.”
