Indigenous Recruitment Session Feb 19

As part of our diverse community, Toronto has the largest Indigenous population in Ontario and the fourth largest in Canada. And it is growing.

Seeking to both reflect and serve the diverse community of Toronto, the Toronto Police Service is looking for excellent candidates from the Indigenous communities who are looking to make a difference in the communities we serve and protect. On Wednesday, February 19, 2020, the Toronto Police Talent Acquisition recruitment team, in partnership with the Aboriginal Peacekeeping Unit, will be holding a General Information Session/Recruitment Drive at the Toronto Police College.

This event is open to anyone, especially those who report identifying with an Indigenous group such First Nations, Metis or Inuit. We invite all members of the Indigenous community to spread the word and invite friends, family, and acquaintances.

At this session, participants will have an opportunity to gain an understanding of the Toronto Police Service’s recruitment process. This is an opportunity to acquire insight and advice about how to apply and prepare for each stage of the recruitment process.

The presentation will provide understanding of the legal eligibility requirements, as well as the valued qualifications which will make you a competitive candidate in our process.

During this session participants will have the opportunity to run through the Physical Readiness Evaluation for Police (PREP). This session will allow candidates to perform the two components of the PREP test (Pursuit/Restraint Circuit and Aerobic Shuttle Run) that will assess physical capability.

Pre-registration is required and the session will be limited to 50 participants.
