Man Charged In Restaurant Murder

A man has surrendered to police for the murder of Tariq Mohammad from a shooting at the Garden Restaurant on November 16, 2014.

Harvard McKenzie, 24, has been charged with First-Degree Murder and eight other offences.

He was identified through an investigation by the Homicide Squad through security camera footage from the night of the shooting.

On November 16, 2014, three victims were located at the restaurant suffering from gunshot wounds. Tariq Mohammad, 31, of Mississauga, died from his wounds at the scene.

McKenzie, of Toronto, surrendered to police at 31 Division early Tuesday morning.

He has been charged with:

  1. First-Degree Murder

  2. Robbery with a Firearm



He was wanted by 31 Division and was also charged with:

  3. Carrying a Concealed Weapon

  4. Weapons Dangerous
  5. Assault
