Man Wanted in Mitchell Murder
“I am appealing for anyone who may have information about Mr. Wilson’s whereabouts, or about him personally, to call your local police or the Toronto Police Homicide Squad.”
Borg advised Wilson that it’s in his best interest to surrender to police after contacting his lawyer.
“Lookouts locally, nationally and internationally have already been put in place and you will not be able to flee far,” he said. “Regardless of where you flee, you will be actively pursued and will be returned to face criminal justice.”
Borg said the investigation is ongoing and efforts are underway to make everyone responsible for this cowardly murder face justice.
“Not very long after he arrived, Neeko was sought out by others and was, for all intents and purposes, ambushed and killed execution-style,” Borg said. “Neeko Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene and had no chance of survival.”
Homicide investigators have significant video footage that has been helpful in establishing what happened that night.
At a press conference just over a month ago, Borg released security camera images of three individuals – one of them a female – who arrived at the centre together and are believed to be involved in Mitchell’s murder.
“We know everybody who is involved in Neeko’s murder,” said Borg.
Mitchell – who was known to police despite the fact he didn’t have a criminal record -- was shot with high-velocity ammunition, none of which remained in his body. He died at the scene.
