Memorial Run For Fallen Officers

The National Peace Officers Memorial Run takes place on Parliament Hill on the last Sunday of September.

The Run is an annual event that was started by the Peel Regional Police Service Running Team in 2005 to raise awareness of the Annual memorial service.

It consists of a 460 kilometre run from the OntarioPolice Memorial at Queens Park and ends at the National Peace Officers Memorialon Parliament Hill, Ottawa.

Proceeds from the run are used to support Police/PeaceOfficer Memorials across the country, as well as the surviving families ofthose Officers that have made the ultimate sacrifice and have passed away inthe line of duty.

This year the Toronto Police Service will be representedby 64 runners who will wear armbands honouring the 41 Toronto Officers that areon our Wall of Honour, and will be running 10 kilometre legs from Toronto toOttawa over three days.

Service Members and the public are invited to attend theopening service on Thursday September 24, 2015 at 8:00 am at the Ontario PoliceMemorial; Grosvenor Street and Queens Park Crescent, and to participate in the4 kilometre team run to 51 Division.

Service Members and the public are invited to attend theclosing service on Saturday September 26, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the National PeaceOfficers Memorial in Ottawa.
