Pride Month Launch at HQ
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and with major celebrations cancelled this year, including Pride Month events, Chief Mark Saunders said members of the Service will share their stories virtually.
“They will be speaking about how great it is to work with Toronto Police and how fantastic it is to work in the city,” he said, at the Service’s Pride Month kick-off on June 1 at police headquarters where he raised a Pride flag. “But most importantly, they will remind everyone about the importance of inclusion.”
Saunders urged members to celebrate safely and thanked community members for their support over the years.
“This is going to be a fantastic month and remember if you are in a congregate setting, please feel free to wear a face covering,” he said.
