Shotgun Blast During Robbery

13 Division
Toronto Police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying three suspects – two of them were armed with shotguns – who committed a robbery at a west end convenience store on December 11.

It’s alleged that the men entered the store at Eglinton Ave. W. and Locksley Ave. around 9 p.m. and ordered the customers to the floor.

One suspect with a sawed-off shotgun jumped the counter and ordered the store clerk to open the safe with the money. During the confrontation, he discharged the firearm narrowly missing the victim.

“This was a very violent robbery and we want to get these guys off the street,” said Hold Up Staff Inspector Mike Earl. “We are asking for the public to assist us with identifying these dangerous suspects.”

In addition to slinging a shotgun, the second suspect was carrying an Adidas duffle bag.

The third suspect kept the customers corralled on the floor and relieved them of their cell phones.

Once the safe was opened, the suspects ran off with a quantity of cash.

The suspects, who wore dark face coverings and white gloves, are described as black and in their mid-20s.
