Three Face Juvenile Prostitution Charges

Sex Crimes
Three people are facing 19 charges resulting from a human trafficking and juvenile prostitution investigation.

Police believe there may be more victims associated to similar crimes.

Police allege that two men and a woman assaulted, threatened and forced a 17-year-old girl into becoming a prostitute.

Transported between Mississauga and Scarborough hotels by the group, the teenager was kept against her will and constantly guarded in hotel rooms. She was also relieved of personal belongings, including her money and cell phone.

Sex Crimes Detective David Correa said police acted on information they received.

“We received information about what they are alleged to have been engaged in and initiated an investigation that led us to them,” Correa said.

The investigation was launched on March 28.

Michael Campbell, 30, Timothy Hewton, 23, and 20-year-old Serena Timbury Welcome, of Toronto, appeared in court April 14.

They face numerous charges, including trafficking in persons and living on the avails of prostitution.
