United Way Campaign Shows Caring Endures
Toronto Police Service members raised $284,000 this year for United Way Greater Toronto.
The theme, Caring Endures, noted that Service members have a proud tradition of caring for the community through their work and charitable contributions.
Chief James Ramer was extremely proud of the Service’s response.
“By raising a significant amount of money for our community in these difficult times, I think it demonstrates that our people are caring,” he said.
Toronto Police Service members give through payroll donations and organized a variety of grassroots initiatives to raise money.
Chair Jim Hart also acknowledged the support.
“Our Service members, each and every day, give of themselves to community,” he said. “That is what their job is, but now they have demonstrated that in dollars.”
