Toronto Police Service Issues More Than 2700 Tickets and Make 46 Arrests in Two Wheeled Safety Campaign
The Toronto Police Service issued more than 2,700 tickets and made 46 arrests during a citywide initiative aimed at improving traffic safety for cyclists and motorcyclists. The campaign focused on protecting vulnerable road users, including those who cycle and ride motorcycles.
From Monday, June 1 to Sunday, June 7, 2026, traffic enforcement activities focused on the “Big 4” driver behaviours known to cause injuries to all road users: speeding, aggressive driving, distracted driving, and impaired driving.
Education and enforcement efforts centered on two-wheel safety supported rider awareness and promoted safer practices. The community was engaged through social media, along with enforcement and educational initiatives to help keep all road users safe.
The tickets issued included:
- Speeding – 795
- Aggressive Driving – 1,526
- Distracted Driving – 426
- Stunt Driving – 14
- Impaired Operation – 46 (arrests)
Traffic Services thanks everyone who helped share the traffic safety message and raised awareness about the importance of safe driving practices.
Toronto’s Vision Zero Road Safety Plan acknowledges that while collisions may be inevitable, those resulting in fatalities or serious injuries are preventable and unacceptable. All road users were encouraged to work toward the goal of zero injuries and deaths on our roads.
Road safety is a shared responsibility. Everyone is encouraged to do their part—together, lives can be saved.
