Canada Day: City of Toronto Fireworks at Ashbridges Bay,
Expect Traffic Delays and Limited Parking
The City of Toronto's Canada Day fireworks display at Ashbridges Bay will take place on the night of Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
The fireworks display, which will begin at 10 p.m., can be seen on the boardwalk from Emdaabiimok Avenue to Victoria Park Avenue and is expected to draw large crowds. This event will take place regardless of weather conditions.
A variety of police resources will be in the area to ensure everyone can enjoy the event safely, including the Mounted Unit, and officers patrolling on foot, ATVs, and bikes. Fire Services, EMS personnel, and City by-law officers will also be on-scene.
Parking enforcement will be stepped up over the weekend and Wednesday, and drivers should expect major delays, including on Lakeshore Boulevard East. Parking will also be restricted. People should consider taking public transit, if possible, and the TTC will be adding additional buses to routes.
The Service would like to remind people that personal bonfires and fireworks in City parks and on beaches are prohibited, and could result in seizures and fines. In addition, no one under 18 years of age can possess fireworks.
Alcohol is not permitted at Ashbridges Bay.
Additional TTC buses will be added to the following routes:
- 22 Coxwell
- 92 Woodbine
REMINDERS:
- Do not bring personal fireworks to the beach. The City will be providing a spectacular fireworks display that everyone can enjoy safely.
- Drinking alcohol on the beach is prohibited.
- Fires are not permitted in parks, beaches, or public spaces, except for City-designated fire pits (which require a permit).
- If possible, take transit to and from the beach to avoid traffic and other parking issues. There will be limited road use during certain times in the evening.
- If you drive to the beach, be mindful of residents in the area. Do not block driveways or fire hydrants.
- Keep music at a reasonable level. Amplified sound such as DJ equipment and large wireless speakers are not permitted.
- Police and by-law officers will be patrolling the beach day and night.
- Drones remain prohibited in and around Ashbridges Bay during the fireworks. It is a federally designated no-fly zone and we are using specialized drone detection technology to identify and intercept drones.
