Constable Atanas Raffaello took several roles and gained a lot of experience en route to deciding on a career in policing.

He served as a volunteer Toronto Police Auxiliary Officer program, gaining experience alongside Toronto police officers in crime prevention. He also served as a Special Constable with Toronto Community Housing Coporation and Toronto Transit Commission.

He has been a Primary Response Officer for the past three years but recognizes the Toronto Police Service offers hundreds of different roles for police officers from working with dogs and horses, to providing tactical response to major incidents to responding to calls for people in a mental health crisis.

His current role sees him respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, serving people who call the police for help.

"Every day is a learning opportunity," Raffaello says, of his work responding to calls from the public.
