The Toronto Police Service has concluded its Back-to-School Safety Campaign, laying more than 1,050 tickets across the traffic safety and parking enforcement campaigns. 

Both campaigns ran from September 8 to September 18, 2026, and focused on enhancing safety in school zones through strict enforcement and community engagement across the city.

During the traffic safety campaign, officers targeted motorists and micromobility users in and around school zones and along routes leading to schools with a particular focus on aggressive driving, distracted driving, and speeding, as well as offences involving micromobility devices.

Officers laid 639 tickets and warnings, including:

• 547 tickets (353 for Aggressive Driving, 66 for Distracted Driving, and 128 for Speeding)
• 92 warnings 
• 8 tickets and warnings issued to micromobility devices 

For the Parking Safety campaign, Parking Enforcement Officers closely monitored illegal parking near schools to ensure motorists weren’t creating unnecessary risks for children and pedestrians. The campaign focused on supporting safe school zones during the busy return-to-school period, with an emphasis on visibility, education and enforcement.

In total, Parking Enforcement Officers:

• Issued 500 tickets 
• Cautioned 665 drivers
• Visited 549 schools
