The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a Fatal Collision investigation.

On Thursday, October 29, 2026, at approximately 9:02 a.m., police responded to a call for a Personal Injury Collision in the Millwood Road and Overlea Boulevard area.

It is reported that:

• a 42-year-old man was working as a Traffic Agent, directing traffic in the area
• a 33-year-old man was operating a blue Kenworth dump truck southbound on Millwood Road, making a left hand turn onto eastbound Overlea Boulevard
• as the truck was making the turn, it struck the Traffic Agent 
• the driver of the truck remained on scene
• life-saving measures were performed; however, the victim was pronounced deceased on scene

On Friday, October 30, 2026, the 33-year-old male driver, of Brampton, was arrested and charged with:

1. Careless driving causing death (Highway Traffic Act)

He is scheduled to appear in court at the St. Lawrence Market North Courthouse, 92 Front Street East, on Thursday, January 28, 2027, at 1:30 p.m., in room S1.

The investigation is ongoing by members of Traffic Services.

Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact investigators.
