Man Arrested in Several Break and Enter investigations,
Jane Street and Church Street area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in a series of Break and Enter investigations in the Jane Street and Church Street area. 

It is alleged that on Friday, August 26, 2026:

  • the accused broke into a garage and stole two dirt bikes

It is further alleged that on Friday, September 4, 2026:

  • the accused returned to the same address and broke into a vehicle parked in the driveway

It is further alleged that on Saturday, September 19, 2026:

  • the accused broke into a residence while the occupants were home
  • the accused stole personal items including jewellery and bank cards
  • the accused attended another location, broke into a motor vehicle, and removed personal property
  • the accused attended a store and made multiple purchases and withdrawals using a stolen bank card     

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, the suspect was arrested and members of the 12 Division Major Crime Unit executed a Criminal Code search warrant.  Officers seized several items of evidentiary value. 

Austin MacDonald, 34, of Toronto, has been arrested and charged with:

  1. two counts of Break and Enter dwelling-house commit 
  2. three counts of Theft Over $5000 
  3. two counts of Possess/Use credit card obtained by offence 
  4. Attempt break and enter/dwelling-house
  5. eight counts of Breach of probation 

He was scheduled to appear in court at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 9 a.m., in room 107.
