In July 2026, the 43 Division Major Crime Unit began investigating a violent robbery linked to the sale of a luxury watch through an online marketplace.
It is alleged that the victim was contacted by an individual using the name "Omar Clarkson," who expressed interest in purchasing the watch. They arranged to meet in the Ellesmere Road and Bellamy Road North area. It is alleged that multiple suspects arrived in a vehicle, assaulted the victim, causing serious injuries, and stole the watch.
As the investigation progressed, officers identified a group believed to be connected to similar robberies targeting individuals selling high-value items online.
After learning the suspects had arranged to meet another luxury watch seller on October 9, 2026, officers from the 42 and 43 Division Major Crime Units and Toronto Police Dog Services set up near the planned meeting location in the Highway 401 and Weston Road area. When the suspects allegedly arrived in a stolen vehicle displaying stolen licence plates, officers moved in and arrested two 17-year-old youths. A third suspect fled the area.
One of the youths arrested was found in possession of a loaded Glock handgun equipped with an extended magazine. An image of the seized firearm has been released.
On October 10, investigators executed three Criminal Code search warrants in Toronto, resulting in the arrest of the third suspect.

Safety Tips for Online Marketplace Transactions
- The Toronto Police Service reminds the public to take precautions when buying or selling items through online marketplaces, particularly when selling high-value items online.
- Consider using a trusted dealer or reseller that can facilitate the transaction on your behalf, eliminating the need to meet a buyer in person.
- If you're using an online marketplace, check whether it offers authentication or secure delivery services that can ship the item for you while ensuring you get paid securely.
- If you do meet in person, choose a well-lit, public location with other people nearby, and avoid meeting alone whenever possible. Consider conducting transactions at a police division parking lot or ‘Safe Exchange Zone’ where available.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels suspicious or unsafe, end the transaction.
- Report suspicious activity to police immediately.
