Acting on a tip, 43 Division investigators were able to arrest a man carrying over a kilo of drugs on July 29.

The Major Crime Unit officers arrested the man outside a Lawrence Ave. building with close to a kilo of crystal meth and 250 grams of fentanyl. They executed search warrants of his car and apartment to find a loaded Glock with six rounds, an over-capacity 30-round magazine and a signficant of drugs.

“This enforcement by the 43 Division Major Crime Unit is so critical to community safety,” said Superintendent Ryan Forde. “Drug trafficking not only brings harmful substances into our neighbourhoods, but also attracts violence, property crime and fear among residents. Our proactive efforts send a strong message that this type of activity will not be tolerated, and we are committed to protecting the quality of all life for all residents.”

In total, police seized Over 840 grams of fentanyl, over a kilo of cocaine and nearly two kilos of crystal meth during the investigation.
