Three Guns Seized from Apartment
Three illegal guns and 298 grams of cocaine were seized after 43 Division Major Crime Unit executed a search warrant on March 26 as part of a firearms investigation.
“The swift and decisive actions of our officers in seizing illegal firearms directly contribute to safer and stronger communities,” said Acting Superintendent Ryan Forde. “Every gun removed from criminal hands is a step forward, preventing violence and protecting innocent lives. Removing these illegal firearms is not just about enforcement. It is about building trust. Officers investigated a 32-year-old man who they suspsected of having an illegal firearm, identifying two apartments and a vehicle.
While executing the first search warrant at a Birchmount Rd. apartment building, the man and three other adults and a child were located inside.
In a bedroom closet, officers located two handguns, a knife, drugs and drug paraphernalia.
In a second closet, they found a 12-gauge pump action shotgun, a bullet proof vest and ammunition.
During a search of the vehicle, officers located cocaine and drug paraphernalia in the glove box.
Four people face drug trafficking and firearms charges.
