On Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 11 a.m., in the Media Gallery at Toronto Police Headquarters, Detective Sergeant Joanne Rudnick, of the Sex Crimes Unit, will update the media on an arrest in a Sexual Assault investigation. From Previous TPS News Release: The Toronto Police Service is alerting the public to a Sexual Assault investigation and requesting the public’s assistance identifying the man wanted. On Saturday, April 9, 2016, at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a call for a sexual assault in the Parliament Street and Howard Street area. It is reported that: - a 52-year-old woman was in an elevator in an apartment building - she was approached by a man - the man displayed a handgun and directed the woman to leave the elevator - she was forced to the stairwell where she was sexually assaulted - the man fled the building He is described as black, 20-25, 5’9”, medium build, wearing black jeans, grey hooded sweater, grey vest, dark toque, tan shoes and carrying a red knapsack.
