Day of Pink at Agincourt Collegiate

On Wednesday, April 12, 2017, the Toronto Police Service, in partnership with the students at Agincourt Collegiate Institute, celebrated International Day of Pink by highlighting student-based initiatives and an anti-bullying video. Mayor John Tory, TDSB Director of Education John Malloy, Agincourt Collegiate Institute Principal Roy Hu, and students, joined Toronto Police Deputy Chief Jim Ramer, members of the Toronto Police Service’s 42 Division, and the Service’s Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans Queer (LGBTQ) Internal Support Network at the event. Please follow #StopBullyingNow on Twitter to join the social media conversation. The International Day of Pink started when a Nova Scotia teen was bullied for wearing a pink shirt to school. His fellow students rallied – by all wearing pink – and showed their solidarity against LGBTQ-based discrimination. Watch the Toronto Police anti-bulling video "Speak Up! STOP.BULLYING.NOW.", produced by the TPS LBGTQ Internal Support Network here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjmowI3ao9E
