Sex Assault Victims of Nathan Bumesi Asked To Call @torontopolice

On Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 10:30am, in the media gallery of Toronto Police HQ, Detective Mark Benallick of the Sex Crimes Unit updated the media on a 10-year-prison sentence in a sexual assault investigation where it is believed there may be other victims. On April 3, 2012, a 53-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in the Dundas Street East and Sherbourne Street area. On April 4, 2012, Nathan Bumesi, 21, was arrested and charged in the case. On Tuesday, February 18, 2014, the Superior Court of Justice sentenced Nathan Bumesi, now 23, to a 10-year prison term. Police believe Bumesi may be responsible for other unreported assaults.
