Toronto Crimes Stoppers Appeal for information into street robberies

Toronto CrimeStoppers 416-222-8477 (416-222-TIPS) Toronto Police 42 Division CIB 416-808-4204 Toronto CrimeStoppers has created this re-enactment appeal video in response to a rash of robberies that have been occurring in the 42 Division area of Toronto, particularly within the areas of Markham Rd., McCowan Ave., and Finch Ave. The level of violence seen in these crimes has been increasing, as has number of incidents, which involve theft of valuables from citizens, including purses, electronics, and other valuables. The suspects in these incidents have often used weapons, including knives and guns, to effect these robberies. In the video, Toronto CrimeStoppers Co-ordinator Chris Scherk introduces Detective Sergeant Gerry Heaney of Toronto Police 42 Division, who details information about the crimes and the suspects, as well as outlining good safety practices for citizens using public transit.
