The Toronto Police Operations Centre (TPOC) is a 24/7 real-time operations centre that strategically co-ordinates many of the operational functions of the Toronto Police Service. The TPOC, with the aid of both internal and external partners, ensures continuous monitoring and analysis of information from within the Service as well as the city as a whole, to deploy frontline and specialized resources when and where they are needed most.
The TPOC's operational vantage point provides complete situational awareness of the city and the Service; therefore, the TPOC has ideal positioning to authorize immediate action to significant events when required.
The multi-faceted TPOC team includes a dispatcher as a Tactical Communications Liaison and a Media Relations Officer who ensure information is shared with the Service as well as through the various media formats, in real-time, 24/7.
