Youth in Policing Initiative Summer Graduation,

On Friday, August 21, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., Deputy Chief Frank Barredo will be joined by the Honourable Michael Kerzner, Solicitor General of Ontario; the Honourable Michael Parsa, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services; Mayor Olivia Chow and Deputy Mayor Amber Morley, representing the Toronto Police Service Board, to celebrate the 2026 Summer Youth in Policing Initiative graduation.   

A total of 160 students representing 31 neighbourhoods from across the city worked at various units and divisions throughout the Service, gaining valuable employment experiences and life skills through their interactions with police officers and community members. 

The Youth in Policing Initiative is part of the Government of Ontario’s Youth Opportunities Strategy. This Strategy aims to build stronger communities by establishing and expanding community programs that help youth achieve a brighter future.

The event will take place at the Toronto Police College (70 Birmingham Street), and will not be broadcast via Dome Productions or live streamed on YouTube.
