Eight Firearms Seized in Five Days
Drug Squad investigators seized eight firearms and a quantity of drugs during three separate undercover drug trafficking investigations in the city in August.
In a five-day span, Drug Squad Enforcement Street Teams executed seven search warrants on four residences, one business and two vehicles.
A total of five firearms were seized in 42 Division, two in 31 Division and one in 33 Division.
In addition, six people were arrested and charged with multiple drug trafficking and firearm-related offences.
“Once again, members of the Drug Squad demonstrated exceptional dedication and teamwork,” said Inspector Kathlin Seremetvkovski. “These efforts represent a significant achievement in our ongoing commitment to public safety. The impact of their work cannot be overstated. Every firearm seized is a potential tragedy thwarted and every drug seizure is an overdose prevented. Thanks to all the enforcement teams at Toronto Drug Squad as well as the Emergency Task Force for their assistance.”
