Details of Investigation:
On Monday, June 9, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., police responded to a call for service in the Cedar Drive and Eglinton Avenue East area.
It is reported that:
- the victim was located lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound
- the victim was transported to a local trauma centre where he was later pronounced deceased
- investigators are looking for multiple suspects
The victim has been identified as Jordan Thompson, 33, of Toronto.
On Saturday, June 14, 2025, Jelani DeJonge-Reece, 24, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
He is scheduled to appear in court at The Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 10 a.m., in room 107.
A second suspect remains outstanding.

- Second Degree Murder
