On Friday July 7, 2023, at 12:22 p.m., the Toronto Police Service attended a call for a shooting in the Queen Street East and Carlaw Avenue area.
It was reported that:
- there was a physical altercation between three males
- two of the males brandished handguns and discharged them at each other
- the female victim was walking in the area and was struck by a stray bullet
- she was transported to hospital where she was later pronounced deceased
- the suspects fled the area on foot
The victim has been identified as Karolina Huebner-Makurat, 44, of Toronto.
Damian Hudson, 32, of Toronto has been arrested and charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
On Monday, August 14, 2023, a second suspect was arrested. Ahmed Mustafa Ibrahim, 20, of
Toronto, has been charged with:
1. Manslaughter
2. Robbery
3. Fail to Comply with Probation
